第一课时：Section A 1a-2c (新知呈现与初步操练)

Step 1: Warm-up & Lead-in (热身与导入) (5 mins)

1. Greeting: Greet the students as usual.
   • T: Good morning, class!
   • Ss: Good morning, teacher!
2. Sing a Song: Play a simple English song like "Hello, Hello" or "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to create a relaxing atmosphere.
3. Review: Quickly review the greetings from Unit 1.
   • T: What's your name?
   • S1: My name is...
   • T: How are you?
   • S1: I'm fine, thank you. And you?
   • T: I'm great, thanks.
4. Lead-in: Show a picture of a happy family on the screen.

   T: Look at this picture. Is it beautiful? (Yes!) Who are they? Today, we are going to learn how to talk about our family. Let's open our books to Unit 2. (板书 Unit 2 This is my sister.)

Step 2: Presentation (新知呈现) (15 mins)

1. Teach New Words (教学新单词):

   • Use PowerPoint or flashcards to present the family words one by one.
   • Method: Show the picture -> Say the word clearly -> Students repeat -> Spell the word.
   • Example:
     • (Show a picture of a man) T: This is a father. (强调 fa-ther 的发音) Ss: Father. T: F-A-T-H-E-R, father.
     • (Show a picture of a woman) T: This is a mother. Ss: Mother. T: M-O-T-H-E-R, mother.

     • (Show a picture of an old woman) T: This is a grandmother. We can also say grandma. Ss: Grandmother / Grandma.
     • (Show a picture of an old man) T: This is a grandfather. We can also say grandpa. Ss: Grandfather / Grandpa.
   • Game: "Quick Response". Show the pictures quickly, and students say the words as fast as they can.

2. Teach Sentence Patterns (教学句型):

   • Introduce This is...
     • Point to a boy in the class. T: This is Li Ming. (Write on the blackboard: This is...)
     • Point to a girl. T: This is Lucy.
     • Show a family photo of your own (or a famous one). T: Look, this is my father. And this is my mother.
     • Ask students to practice: This is... with their partner, using their textbook pictures.
   • Introduce That is...
     • Stand far from a student and point to him/her. T: That is Wang Tao. (Write on the blackboard: That is...)
     • Explain the difference: This is for things/people near us. That is for things/people far away. Use gestures to show near and far.
   • Introduce These are / Those are...
     • Show a picture with two or more people. T: These are my sisters. (Write on the blackboard: These are...)
     • Stand far away and point to a group of students. T: Those are your classmates. (Write on the blackboard: Those are...)
     • Summarize on the board:
       • 单数: This is... / That is...
       • 复数: These are... / Those are...

Step 3: Practice (操练) (10 mins)

1. 1a Matching:

   • Ask students to look at 1a in their books. Match the words with the pictures.
   • Check the answers together. Ask individual students: "What's number 1?" "It's sister."

2. 1b Listening:

   • Tell students they will hear a conversation. They need to number the pictures in 1a.
   • Play the recording for the first time. Students just listen.
   • Play the recording again. Students number the pictures.
   • Play the recording a third time for students to check their answers.
   • Check answers as a class.

3. Pair Work (1c):

   • Ask students to look at the picture in 1c.
   • Model the dialogue with a good student.
